Lentigines (Plural) – Lentigo (Singular)

This term describes brown blotchy marks of different shapes and sizes on sun exposed skin of hands, forearms and face.

Best thought of as large freckles, these darken in summer and tend to fade in winter, though never completely. They are flat and smooth on the surface, not lumpy.

They are very common in Australia and a sign that the skin in the area has had enough lifetime sun exposure, often with multiple sunburns.

Cutera’s LimeLight IPL can effectively reduce the appearance of these irregular brown blotches. [one_half last=”no”] Lentigines before treatment. Lentigines before treatment… [/one_half] [one_half last=”yes”]Lentigines after treatment … and after treatment.[/one_half]
